Changes to Outpatient Ratio of Cost to Charges for Rural Hospitals Effective Sept.1, 2021

What’s changed
Effective Sept.1, 2021, Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) increased the Rural Hospital Outpatient Ratio of Cost to Charges (RCC) by 16% (the hospital RCC must not exceed 100%).

The impacted outpatient RCCs will be posted on HHSC’swebsite . Continue to watch for the increased ratios postings by the HHSC Provider Finance Department.
