Blue Access for Producers

New User ID Maintenance Process Will Improve Response Time and Security

To improve the online experience and reduce security risks, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas will now automatically disable and/or delete inactive Blue Access® for Producer and Blue Access for Employer user IDs:

  • All user IDs that have not logged in for more than 180 days will be disabled.
  • All disabled IDs that do not login for more than 400 days will be deleted.
  • This will not impact Blue Access for Producer Primary Producers or Blue Access for Employers Delegated Administrators.

If an ID has been disabled, a message will appear that says, "This user ID no longer has access to the system. Please contact your security administrator for more information." Contact your Primary Producer/Delegated Administrator or the Internet Help Desk at (888) 706-0583 to be reinstated.

If an ID has been deleted, a message will appear that says, "Login failed due to either an invalid user ID and/or password, or a connection cannot be established. Please try again." To be reinstated, contact your Primary Producer/Delegated Administrator to create a new user ID.

Checking Last Login - Producer Portal

The Primary Producer can navigate to the Password Manager and view the last login date for sub-users.

Checking Last Login - Employer Portal

Internal users, Delegated Administrators and Alternative Delegated Administrators will have the ability to view a user's last login date via Blue Access for Employer's Security Manager. On the Current Users - Search tab, which is the default page, a list of users will display. As part of this list, the last login date will display. The last login date can also be viewed on a downloadable list of all users. This list is available by clicking the Download All Users link at the top of the list of users.

Improving Your Online Experience

Blue Access portal response time will improve as inactive IDs are removed, which means you'll get the information you need more quickly.

Security

Disabling and deleting inactive IDs will reduce the chances of someone other than the actual user attempting to login and possibly compromising account content.

If you have any questions, please contact your Blue Cross and Blue Shield representative.
